My sister, Lauren, is back in town after graduating from Calvin College. Congratulations, Lauren! Click below to read a short description of my trip.
I spent the weekend in Grand Rapids, MI for my sister’s graduation. It was good to meet her friends and stay with my aunt and uncle whom I haven’t seen in a few years. I found out last night you can get Bell’s beers at Cicero’s here in St. Louis.
My family left Friday at around 1pm. I spent most of the drive listening to mp3’s and reading Slaughterhouse Five and killing fast food burgers. So it goes. It was raining and windy for almost the entire drive so we arrived later than anticipated. But I still was able to go out that night with Lauren and meet some of her friends at the Pickwick.
Saturday morning after breakfast and showers we went to the graduation ceremony. It was a lengthy ceremony on uncomfortable bleachers but it was really good to see Lauren walk.
After the graduation we had a barbecue at my aunt and uncle’s. Lauren invited some of her friends, so we had a good group. I ate a lot of food then played frisbee, badminton, and catch. After a few hours, I left with Lauren and her friends and we spent the evening at the Cottage Bar. It was great to hang out with Neal, Mike, Ann, and some of her other friends. I look forward to seeing them again sometime.
The next day was spent driving back to St. Louis. I listened to more mp3’s and read The Princess Bride.

Good show, Lauren, and good to have you back in town (all this assuming she eventually reads this, but congratulations anyway).
