Friday night, Ryan and Annie, Amy and I, met a bunch of friends at a restaurant for a combination going-away party for Mary Ellen and birthday party for Amy. We had a long wait to get seated but other than that we had a lot of fun. Amy and I headed back to her place where we met Ben and Lori.
Saturday, we did some last minute shopping for glasses and such for the bar. Here’s a few photos of the end result:
Saturday evening, Leah, Mike, Brie, Carl, Ben, Lori, Ryan, Adam, Stephanie, Jamie, Lori, Amy, and I celebrated the Grand opening of the bar which we’ve been temporarily calling Blokes, though I’m not completely satisfied with the name. I learned to make a few new drinks. The most popular drinks of the night were Midori Sours (we finished off the bottle of Midori), Amaretto Sours, Buttery Nipples, and Cosmopolitans.
After many drinks, we headed to the theatre to see Jackass: The Movie. We drank more during the movie.
The next day, Ben, Lori, Amy, and I went to West County mall to check out the Mac store and do some other shopping. Ben and I drooled over the $3500 flat screen displays they had and marveled at OS X. I think I have Mac OS X envy. Hopefully someday people will envy the GNOME interface. Maybe around version 3.
Not that GNOME isn’t shaping up. It’s just that it doesn’t yet have quite the fully-polished feel. And there’s some features I want to see make it in.
All-in-all, a delicious weekend. Thanks, everyone, for coming Saturday night. Sorry, Carl, about the mishap.
