Saturday, Amy and I went to a chili cookoff/bonfire with some of her faculty/staff. The chili were all excellent. One chili was made with what was supposed to be the hottest sauce in the world. One drop of the stuff made the chili impressively spicy, instantly causing your nose to run after one bite. Amy’s chili won the prize for most unusual, due to its inclusion of lentils. The bonfire was large and very hot, able to melt a beer bottle in a minute or so. I tried some new beers as well, pulled fresh off the assembly line at Anheuser Busch, in particular, the red label was interesting. It’s a lager that is best described as Budweiser only tasting really good. It’s only served at martini bars in cities like New York, Rome, Paris, etc at six bucks a bottle. And apparently it’s also served for free at bonfires in St. Charles. Cheers.

Last night I watched the Fellowship of the Ring: Special Edition. The extra footage was quite nice. I think it’s the way the film should be seen. There’s nothing really spectacular in the extra footage, however it blends in and adds more depth to the story and characters. This DVD is a must. The 18 hours of extras including documentaries are impressive.
