I had an enjoyable 4-day holiday weekend. Amy and I went over to my family’s for Thanksgiving dinner around noon. Neal and Lauren introduced Amy and me to a really fun board game, Settlers of Catan. Definitely worth buying. I think I’ll be asking for it for Christmas and if that doesn’t work, ordering it myself online. While looking for more info on the game, I found a project whose goal is to design a GNOME version of the game called Gnocatan. I’ll have to see how far along it is.
After lots of food at my parents’ house, Amy and I went to her parents’ house for more food. In addition to the usual Thanksgiving food, I tried a pig’s ear. I wasn’t fond of the tecture. Amy claimed I might have gotten a “bad one”. Yeah, I think there was an ear in mine.
Friday afternoon, Ben and Lori arrived. Ben, Lori, Adam, Steve, Ryan, Amy, and I went to the Blues game where they trashed the Flames, 7-2.
Saturday had a pretty quiet day/evening. Sometimes it’s nice to refrain from drinking and just have hot chocolate and play Yahtzee.
Yesterday was also pretty uneventful.
Oh, what am I thankful for, you ask? Well, it’s cliche, but I’m thankful for friends and family. I’m also thankful for those who cannot be near to me physically but love me from afar.
