I’ve been to many concerts before including Metallica (3), Ozzfest (2), Aerosmith (2), Korn, Puddle of Mudd ….
I must say that this concert was the most amazing experience of my life! The energy coming off the crowd in this small venue was abolutely ubelievable.
Imagine 1000 hot, sweaty, drunk, head-banging people crowded into a fairly small building all thrashing to four of the hottest new metal bands around.
I must have lost 3 beers from people being pushed completely out of the mosh pit into the nearby crowd “WOA! There goes another one … quick help him up before he gets trampled!”. Friggin’ unbelievable.
I even had the chance to experience the mosh pit first hand, twice (both times quite by accident). You see when a mosh pit breaks out, its not always in the same place and sometimes it expands rapidly. According to Boyles law, as the velocity of the people in the mosh pit increases, the edges of the mosh pit are pressed outward allowing the people inside more room to move. Sometimes if the edges expand too quickly a tear will occur and people from inside the mosh pit will come pouring out.
This happend to me twice. Bad thing is, as the people who came pouring out, rush back in to re-joing the mosh pit … you can get caught in the current and find yourself right in the middle of “HELL ON EARTH” as I like to call it.
Its fun to watch people mosh, but actually being betten to a bloody pulp for fun, isn’t my thing. Anyway, the first time I escape fairly unscaved, however the second time I lost an almost full beer and ended up on the floor twitching in pain after someone slammed me in the back with an elbow as I was off-balance trying to protect my beer. Luckily, I was rescued before I was trampled.
While I can say the mosh pit wasn’t much of a fun experience, at least I can say I’ve been there and it WAS an interesting experience.
I think I’m going to attend more concerts at Pops and the smaller venues in the future.
You feel so close to the band its like your almost on stage with them. You can see their every movement, their facial expressions … you might even get some spray from the bottled water the lead singer throws into the crowd “Ahh … cool water.”
By far the band I enjoyed the most was Powerman 5000, even though Stone Sour was the headliner. I’ve always been a fan of their hard pounding, bass enfused metal brand of music. It was during Powerman 5000 that I really started to feel the energy from the crowd and start to really get into the crazed trance that you get at those REALLY LOUD and AWESOME concerts. Where you just can’t control yourself from jumping and screaming and head-banging constantly.
AN ABSOLUTE BLAST TO SAY THE LEAST!
I recommed it to anyone who is tired of the same old boring concerts where you sit in your seat or on the grass and just listen to the music and maybe stand up for a bit when your favorite song is played.
I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT TIME!

I have to say that out of all of the concerts I’ve been to the most energetic, crazy, exciting, blood-pumping show was the Beastie Boys Hello Nasty tour. That really knew how to rock the house!!!
I totally recommend to anyone that they should see them next time they come on tour-even if you don’t like hip-hop, they’re just so much damn fun!

I think Celine Dion rocks! Especially now when she’s got her hair cut like a 12-year old boy.
