Last night I went on a Metropolis pubcrawl. The first bar I went to was The Cabin Inn at the City Museum. It was quite a surreal experience. First of all the City Museum is surreal, especially at night. Inside and outside the museum are ladders, ropes, slides, beams, an airplane, etc. And underneath this maze of twisted metal is a small genuine 19th century log cabin that was moved and restored and converted into a bar. It was in this bar that 20 or so of us gathered to have a few beers. After my second beer, Dan Gray of News Channel 5 walks in with a cameraman. They took some footage of the bar, and us. If you thought you saw me on the 10 o’clock news, it wasn’t your imagination. My mom called me a few minutes after I arrived at The Ritz to tell me she saw me on TV. They were doing a story on the big night downtown.
Just had lunch at the West County mall with Troy and Max. I also took a few minutes to stop and look at golf clubs at a sporting goods store. They had a pretty nice starter set for $160, but I think I’m going to look at some used sets first.
You may also notice that I added a link to my Amazon.com wishlist (in the Books block on the left). So if you wanna buy me a gift you know where to look.
Have a great holiday weekend, pubcrawlers….
