At 10:30 all 36 of us loaded up on the bus and headed to St. Charles (94 South) for some great wine. While on the bus we enjoyed hearty servings of jello shots, beer, snacks, and conversation. Our first stop was Sugar Creek Winery. We enjoyed our first tastings of the day, followed by cheese, crackers, and assorted veggies. Around 1:00 we left for Blumenhoff winery which was hosting it’s annual Pig Roast. For those interested you could actually see the pig roasting in the rotisery. Until about 3:30 we enjoyed good German food, wine, and German music. Tunes such as “In Heaven There is no Beer” and “The Duck Dance” were among those recognizable.

From 4:00-5:30 we went to Balducci’s where they had live music and yes, MORE WINE. Some of us played Uno, others enjoyed dancing, while others sipped succulent wine and nibbled on crackers and cheese. From 6:00-7:30 our last stop was Dave and Jacquies place, a little bar with patio dancing. Most of us enjoyed going crazy on the dance floor, while others continued to drink beverage and ‘make fun’ of the ‘crazy people’ :-)

Apparently they have 2 Winery trips a year, one in the Fall and one in the Spring. I highly suggest you try out one of these trips. There are various types of wine to enjoy, and I’m sure you’d find something you’d like. This trip was a blast!!! It was gorgeous weather with a great group of people and it’s definitely worth every second!
