I installed Fedora Core 1 this evening. My CD Writer has apparently died so I had to do an install off my hard drive. Thankfully everything went smoothly. Having entirely skipped Red Hat 9 I was pretty impressed with the change from Red Hat 8 to Fedora Core 1. After the install was finished, within minutes I was adding a few sources to my apt and yum lists (yes, FC supports apt and yum repositories) and installing tons of extra goodies. In the process of intentionally deleting my old GNOME config (to get a clean slate) I accidentally deleted all my epiphany bookmarks. Oh well, now I get to start with a clean slate there too. Here are a couple screenshots of my Fedora Core 1 desktop:

Overall, I’m quite pleased. I think I’ll be sticking with this at least until Novell SUSE + Ximian Desktop comes out (at which point I’ll have to try that).
