Had a guys’ night Friday: brought burrito’s over to Ben’s, drank Stag beer and watched the original Planet of the Apes. Much better than the remake. After the movie we played around with .NET stuff. He demonstrated some of the nicer Visual Studio.NET features such as being able to hit tab (after you’ve indicated that a class implements an interface) to stub out an entire interface for implementation. Rather slick.
Spent Saturday doing errands, writing a few regular expressions, and then went out Saturday night to Pinup Bowl. Joe Edwards dropped by, but Nelly didn’t. We noticed a plaque indicating that Nelly has the high score at Pinup: 257. My friend, Troy, who was there, is a decent bowler and could beat that score, but we wondered if they’d put a plaque up with his name on it, thus removing Nelly’s. I’m guessing they wouldn’t.
On Sunday I went with Amy and Lori to see the new Harry Potter movie on an IMAX screen. It was cool, but that screen is entirely too big. It’s physically impossible to see the whole screen at once so you have to move your head around to look where the action is at any given point in the film. After about 15 minutes or so I got used to it, but my neck hurt by the end of the movie. I was actually most impressed with the 15,000 watt 6-channel sound with sub-bass at so low a frequency (20 - 80 Hz) you could feel it more than hear it.
