  1. it will when it gets a slider.

  2. What’s that weather forcast thing in the upper left corner of the screen?

  3. It’s GoodWeather, a gDesklets applet

  4. It seems muine has a slider, but it’s not in the main window. But there’s a “Move to time” (or something, I don’t have it right here) option in the menus that opens a separate window with a slider. A bit strange. Personally, I almost really like it. Reminds me a lot of epiphany–extremely simple, but just slightly too simple. I think I’d use it if it had 1) ID3 tag editing (is there anything stupider than software that relies heavily on tags that it, itself, can’t change?) and 2) a random play mode. Or possibly an option to reorder the playlist into a random order. Other than that, it does seem very clean, very nice. I just want slightly more features.

  5. Muine isn’t perfect, but I guess I was impressed because a) I thought it was alpha quality and was pleasantly surprised by the fact that b) it’s the best music player I’ve used yet for Linux. Seriously. I can’t stand xmms. I tried to get used to Rhythmbox but just can’t. Everything else I’ve tried is just weird. Both of the features Adam mentioned are things I noticed lacking as well, but I still find it more useful than any other player so I’m using it now. The code is fairly easy to understand and written in C# so maybe I’ll look to see how difficult a patch for either or both of those features would be. One cool feature that appears to be in CVS now is the ability to burn your playlist to CD. :) I would really love that one.

  6. try amarok :p
