A friend of mine invited me to a fashion show last night. I’ve never been to something like this, so I figured, “why not?” I was expecting a runway and photographers and all that, but this show was more of a loft party. There were some Laurie Solet fashions being modeled and displayed, but the focus seemed to be the free drinks, mingling, and the DJ. Which was fine with me since I have no interest in $300 shirts for girls. I do, however, have an interest in free drinks. It seemed to be sponsored in part by Navan Cognac so everyone was sampling it with various mixers. “Everyone” was mostly composed of people in the fashion and entertainment industry: designers, models, entertainment columnists. I get the “you look familiar” line quite often for some reason and I could have had a lot of fun with it last night. Instead I stayed honest.
