MyHeritage has this nifty face recognition demo. You upload a photo of yourself and it tries to match you to its celebrity database to see whom you look like. The first photo I tried produced this:

Richard Stallman? Must be the beard

Okay, now this is getting weird

Apparently, in addition to these studs, I also look like Nicolas Cage, Tom Hanks, John Kerry, and Maria Carey. I think the software needs some work.

  1. Yeah, so I always KNEW ya looked a wee bit like David Bowie! Hey, I think you just figured out who you’ll be for halloween! (and no, it is not Mariah carey, sorry).

  2. Ok, so I have free time and I tried this thing. I used three different pictures with different hair cuts and or eye color (when they were blue). I received the most responses as looking like Alyson Hannigan from American Pie. Here are the others: Barbaran Stanwyck, Paris Hilton, Mira Sorvino, Mariah Carey, Liv Tyler, Ella Fitzgerald, Shakira, Meryl Streep, Katherine Hepburn. That’s a wide array of people I must say.

  3. Using my photograph from the Original Tribute Page it determined that I look like Denzel Washington and no one else.

  4. I think, and maybe it’s because I’ve been watching Monster-In-Law, but I think you look kinda like Micheal Vartan. :)

  5. Michael Vartan, eh? Is that the guy from ‘Alias’ ?

  6. Yep, and Never Been Kissed….One hour photo….etc…

  7. It said I looked like Zhang Ziyi and Aretha Franklin…and I’m a guy…I can understand Zhang Ziyi though since I’m asian, but Aretha? It seems to rely on the way you posed for the picture. In another test, it said I looked like Kim Il Sung…
