I sang Johnny Cash this weekend. I sang “Folsom Prison Blues” and people at the karaoke bar cheered. Girls wanted to dance with me; guys told me I did a good job singing while they slapped me on the back. It wasn’t me they were cheering–it was the Man in Black. What was it about Johnny Cash that people respect? I have my own opinions, but tell my yours in a comment. I’ll give you a hint: he had a few traits that all of humanity respects and a few that all women adore and all men aspire to. And that’s why I’ll keep singing his songs. I’ve got a few songs of his in the playlist on my myspace profile if you need some reminders.
